BRAD HOYLMAN EARNS TENTH AND ELEVENTH CLUB ENDORSEMENTS FOR BOROUGH PRESIDENT, MORE THAN ANY OTHER CANDIDATE IN THE RACE

As Petitioning Season Begins, Brad Hoylman’s Campaign Secures New Support from Chinatown’s United Democratic Organization (UDO) and Northern Manhattan’s Uptown Community Democrats (UCD)

Hoylman Is the Only BP Candidate with Support from Clubs from the Northernmost to Southernmost Tip of the Borough, and on East and West sides

Manhattan, NY -- Today, Manhattan Borough President candidate and State Senator Brad Hoylman announced endorsements from United Democratic Organization (UDO, Chinatown) and Uptown Community Democrats (UCD, Washington Heights / Inwood). Hoylman has also earned the support of  Downtown Independent Democrats (DID), New Downtown Democrats (NDD), Hell’s Kitchen Democrats, Chelsea Reform Democratic Club (CRDC), Gramercy Stuyvesant Independent Democrats (GSID), Coalition for a District Alternative (CoDA), Samuel J. Tilden Democratic Club, Village Independent Democrats (VID) and Jim Owles Liberal Democratic Club. As petitioning season begins, Hoylman’s broad and diverse coalition provides a distinct advantage with more club endorsements than anyone else in the Borough President’s race.

“I’m so proud to earn political club support from Washington Heights and Inwood down to Chinatown and the Lower East Side,” said Brad Hoylman, who launched his campaign in late August. “Each of these political clubs has played an important role in a movement to bring progress and better leadership to their communities. I am running for Borough President on a record of reform and progress, and a vision for a borough that addresses racial and income inequalities as we rebuild from this pandemic.”

Hoylman’s Campaign Manager Haley Scott said: “Brad Hoylman is the  only candidate to earn endorsements from clubs in Northern Manhattan and Lower Manhattan and on the East and West sides, and he’s earned more political club support than any other candidate in this race. Political clubs give us a competitive advantage on petitioning, as well as our grassroots organizing and voter contact efforts that will lead us to victory in June.”

Brad Hoylman has spent the last eight years fighting in the State Senate for structural change that makes a real difference in New Yorkers’ lives. He led the fights to strengthen vaccine requirements to protect children and the immunocompromised, make police reporting more transparent, end discrimination against transgender New Yorkers, ban ICE from targeting undocumented New Yorkers outside court houses, protect tenants during the COVID-19 pandemic, and get justice for victims of child sexual abuse. As Borough President, Brad will bring this same energy to tackle the toughest challenges and rebuild Manhattan for working families, small businesses and our most vulnerable communities. Brad has lived in Manhattan for three decades; he lives in the Village with his husband David and daughters, Lucy and Silvia. Brad would make history as the first LGBTQ Borough President.
